The Big Question

Being that I'm about 13 weeks now and I've told some people of McNubbin, the most common question I'm getting is whether I'm going to find out what the gender is and what do I secretly wish for.

Of course, I don't care what the gender is as long as it is healthy but the fact of knowing before the birth is something that I really have obsessed pondered over. On one hand, there's the surprise of it all. I've heard some woman say that it's probably the best feeling to have that "It's a BOY/GIRL" moment but then again, it's all relative.

If I do choose to find out I feel you will be better prepared with clothes and such since although I'm not too fond of the Pink/Blue color scheme usually reserved for newborns, the Green/Yellow scheme doesn't really tickle my fancy either. I'm thinking once the gender is known it opens up so many more wardrobe possibilities. Yes, priorities people. LOL!

So I'm so far leaning towards knowing but am still teetering back and forth. Any opinions?

We found out with Oscar. I really wanted a girl, but when we found out he was a boy, I just knew it was right. It seems like whatever sex you have, it is the right one.

We tried to find out this time and they couldn't tell. And this time, I'd like another boy, but I wouldn't mind a girl either. It's been much more difficult to pick out a name because we just have no idea who's in there, you know?

So I say, find out. You will get better gifts at your shower, too.

*Sigh* my whole comment just got trashed. Here we go again with the excited ramblings....

I agree with you on opening wardrobe options, and it would be sweet to know the sex before your shower because then friends/family can shower him/her with boy or girl stuff.

I'm finding out. I want to have an entire dresser full of cute baby clothes for him/her! Plus I'm painting the bedroom with murals with my friend and we're going for either a boy theme or girl theme depending on what it is.

But if you don't want to find out, you don't have to!!! Remember its your own choice ;)

I'm a big fan of NOT knowing beforehand. Although i can see how it would be easier for friends. But personally I wouldn't want to be stocked with all pink clothes and whatnot. I mean, what if they are wrong???

I'm so excited for you!

I find out with both of my kids...Because I couldn't afford to NOT know. All baby related things are expensive (even used things), so I had to know, as long as the baby was willing.

If circumstances were different, I would have like to have had that IT's A BOY/GIRL moment.

It's your choice, I'm sure you will make the right decision for you.

I don't know much about babies but if I didn't know the sex, I would totally rock the baby out in RED! Screw yellow! Red is where it's at!
